Was going to get a nice rental for a trip up to Michigan and use points. $300 in taxes my ass...
Maybe low availability or something. But I have no clue how they got to $1200 base rate...

Rental Car companies bumping up car classes and charging more for them is one of my constant pet peeves. No, a Ford Fusion is not a “Full Size” car you and neither is a non-V8 base model Chrysler 300 a “Luxury” car you Assholes!

First time I rented a car I went intermediate since I assumed that meant mid-sized. When I got an elantra with manual lights I was like “Okay, no more intermediate for me”

$150 is still robbery for 1 day.

I have Hertz Gold membership and I can pick any car but still only within the class and it irks me. I have always used this linkto determine whether I should take Intermediate,Standard(WTF is that?) or Full size for a trip:

I normally wouldnt go this route, but I’m using points, so may as well splurge.
